FUNCIONES DEL CONSULADO HONORARIO DE LAS VEGAS:

ACTOS RELATIVOS AL ESTADO CIVIL, NACIONALIDAD, OBLIGACIONES MILITARES Y ASIGNACIONES FAMILIARES.

1)      Otorgamiento de Certificados de Supervivencia o Nacionalidad

2)      Otorgamiento de Copia de Matrícula Consular

3)      Solicitudes que se tramiten por intermedio del Consulado par obtener en Chile, de los organismos correspondientes: certificado de antecedentes, matrimonio, nacimiento, defunción, cédula de identidad.

4)      Registro Consular de Partidas de Nacimiento, Matrimonio y Defunción.

5)      Actuaciones relativas al cumplimiento de las Obligaciones Militares.

ACTOS ADMINISTRATIVOS       

1)            Otorgamiento de Pasaporte. Este consulado Honorario de Las Vegas no tiene la maquina de captura que tienen los consulados Generales, por lo tanto no se otorgan en Las Vegas, solamente en Los Angeles.

2)            Reexaminación de la autenticidad o validez de un Pasaporte chileno a solicitud de autoridad extranjera.

3)            Salvoconductos para chilenos

4)            Salvoconductos para extranjeros

5)            Legalización de firma de un documento

6)            Estampar “Visto Bueno” a documentos otorgados en Chile para el efecto de hacerlos validos en este país.

7)        Revalidación  de Certificados de Permanencia Definitiva.

ACTOS RELATIVOS A LA PROTECCION Y REPRESENTACION DE CHILENOS Y ACTUACIONES EN MATERIA DE SUCESIONES

1)      Intervención en la administración de bienes de ausentes.

2)      Representación o defensa de derechos de ausentes menores o incapaces ante Tribunales extranjeros.

ACTOS NOTARIALES

1)      Escrituras Públicas

2)      Poder General

3)      Poder Especial

4)      Testamento Abierto

5)      Testamento Cerrado

6)      Expedición de  certificados que hayan de tener  efecto en Chile.

7)      Autentificación de firma/s puestas en un instrumento privado.

8)      Cartas Poderes

9)      Declaraciones Juradas

10)   Autorizaciones a menores para viajar

11)   Otorgamiento o Autorización de cualquier acto notarial.

All documents not signed before a Consul that require legalization (protocolization) before being sent to Chile require that the signer’s signature is notarized, the notary’s signature is legalized by the local Superior Court Clerk (under seal) or by the Secretary of State in which the notary holds office, using a Notarial Certificate for Chile, not an Apostille, since Chile is not a signatory of the Hague Convention authorizing apostilles.

The completed document is submitted to the Consul General/Honorary Consul with jurisdiction over that state for legalization/protocolization. Once that has been completed, the requestor sends the document to Chile where the signature of the Consul General/Hon. Consul is legalized at the Foreign Ministry, Edificio Carrera, Santiago, Chile. Thereafter the document may be used for whatever purposes that it had been created. Unless absolutely and specifically required by somebody other than the Consulate, it is neither necessary nor economical to get the legalization of any document by the Secretary of State of the United States of America.
